Current Events

Hug a ginger day is on Friday! But this father protests. He says “I don't want my son hugged by any random stranger”. At the interview his son didn't say a thing and hid behind his fathers back. We wonder what his opinion is. Sadly for gingers, by the year 2900 genealogists say there will not be any gingers left and, henceforth, no 'hug a ginger day'! The only ginger in our class, Lachlan M, when we asked his his opinion on being hugged by a random stranger said “It would be funny!” I don't know what my opinion is but I think the gingers do.

This Sunday is ANZAC day. We are doing a whole lot of projects about it. We mustn't forget how all those soldiers lost their lives in that war in Galipolli. Lest we forget.

Find out awards

On Wednesday we had our find out awards. It went for 2 and a half hours I think. I won the year 6 hadcopy award and got some bubbly chocolate! Toby got the over all prize and bubbly chocolae and a box of 'Favourites' as well!!! Then after that we ordered a whole lot of pizzas to eat with our buddies. Then we went to the riverside pool to go for a swim. It was an awesome day!

The Cay

Jonothan was reading us a really old book called 'The Cay' by Theodore Taylor. It's about a boy called Phillip who lives in the time when world war 2 had started. At the time he lived on the islands of Curacao but his mother wanted to move to the USA. Their boat ended up being torpedoed by a German U-boat and Phillip got knocked out. He woke up on a raft with a black man called Timothy and the ships cat, stew cat. Phillip becomes blind on the ship and then they land on a island in the middle of a large reef/the devils mouth as some people know it. Later a cyclone hit the island and Timothy died protecting Phillip from the storm. Phillip got picked up by an american boat later and was given his sight back at the hospital. It was a great tale and I think it is based on a true story. The moral is pretty much DON'T BE RACIST!!!

WOW!!!! Camp Was AWESOME!!!!! When we got there we set up our tents then all the awesome people went pain(t)balling!! I have 3 bruises. Sam S did all of them!!!! :(. GRRRRRRRR!!!!! But I hit nearly everyone!! Then after the paintball we went to a barbecue at the beach then we went to sleep. Then Tom got a gash in his head and was rushed to hospital. Poor Tom. In the morning we went all the way up Peppin Island and all the way down again!!! it was AWESOME!!!!!!

We are doing a project on the human body. My group is doing the brain. Luckily we found the best site for the project. It is www.kidshealth.org I think. It's really funny :).

NOOOOOOOOO! Can not create Zooooooo!!!! Must only have one Cyberpet!!!! STINK!!! I must care for my pet Swift carefully! Any way RIPPLE CHIP THE ALL MIGHTY went in the school swimming carnival. He did well. Here are some Flooby pictures:
